This winter, Homeless Project Scotland proudly introduced the country's first entirely volunteer-run emergency night shelter, centrally located in the heart of Glasgow. Our mission is clear: to provide a warm refuge for homeless and vulnerable people, offering not just shelter from the bitter cold, but a beacon of hope. With compassionate volunteers at the helm, we aim to create a supportive environment where those in need can find solace and support, stepping away from the harsh realities of life on the streets. Together, we are committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of our city's most marginalized, ensuring that no one faces the darkness of winter alone. Welcome to a place where warmth, care, and community intersect to illuminate the path towards brighter days.
Our partners, volunteers and generous donations are what make this vital resource a reality and the impact it is having can be seen echoing in the feedback we've had from our guests and the sheer number of people using our service.
Exclusive footage reveals Glasgow City Council is breaking the law when it comes to helping homeless people. The council has failed to provide temporary overnight accommodation to vulnerable people despite having a legal obligation to do so.

When a vulnerable person joins us at the emergency night shelter our first port of call is to contact the council and try to get suitable accommodation provided for them, which is their legal right. If the council are unable to do this the guest is assigned one of our lovely clean white beds thanks to the generosity of our partners. They will also be offered the support of lawyers to help them get the accommodation they deserve, a nice meal to fill up their belly, a warm drink or juice and access to a toilet throughout the night.
If the person needs it we will get them a telephone with unlimited texts, calls and data so they can contact anyone they need to, clean and dry clothes thanks to donations from the public and any toiletries they may need to stay clean and healthy.
